Squamous cell carcinoma of the external ear canal is a rare tumor, being identified in 1 in 5000 to 1 in 15,000 otolaryngology clinic visits.1 Squamous cell carcinoma in this site is a disease of older individuals, with a mean age at onset of 62 years and a greater prevalence in men than women.2,3
