In this volume the authors undertake to relate the complete story of operative correction of the cleft palate. How successful they have been in compiling the story may be surmised from the fact that the text contains 534 illustrations and there is appended a bibliography covering more than 80 pages. This unique surgical field is on the borderline encroached on by the oral surgeon, the otolaryngologist, the dentist and the general surgeon. A perusal of this story of operative work on the cleft palate will instil a wholesome respect for this field of surgery. The work impresses the reviewer as being complete and will be perused with profit by any one who would undertake this field of surgery.
