Part I of this brochure is a brief discussion of the nature and properties of radium, the measurements used, the methods of applying radium and the use of radium in diseases of the skin and superficial new growths. Part II discusses radium in diseases of the eye; Part III consists of a plea for the use of radium applied to the faucial tonsils and other lymphoid tissues of the throat. The arguments remind one of those put forth so enthusiastically for the use of diathermy in the removal of tonsils, which have proved to be more fallacious than justifiable.
