DR. ALFRED LEWY RECEIVES AWARD
At the meeting of the Chicago Laryngological and Otological Society on November 1, Dr. Alfred Lewy was presented with the traditional cane of the society, which was started in circulation by the late Dr. Joseph C. Beck. It is the temporary property of the senior living member of the society. It contains in its handle models of several otolaryngologic instruments.In accepting the presentation, Dr. Lewy thanked the members of the society and stated that he felt that he had earned it by a wise choice of ancestors; he said that he intended to hold on to it and not to pass it on to any successor for a long time to come. The cane has been in the possession of the late Drs. Joseph C. Beck, T. Melville Hardie and George Shambaugh Sr.
