This monograph deals with the authors' modification of the Alnico magnet for the removal of foreign bodies in the air passages, esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.
The author presents the history of the development of the magnet, its description, method of usage, and his personal modifications. The third chapter, and the succeeding three chapters are devoted to the use of this magnet in the removal of foreign bodies from the air passages, esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Actual case histories are presented, and these are amplified by both illustrations and roentgenograms.
The final chapter deals with the failures and their causes.
This monograph is a useful book for the bronchologist and the gastroenterologist who performs his own gastroscopies.
