The Medical Abstracts Section of THE JOURNAL of the American Medical Association is being expanded to include a synopsis-abstract of every original article appearing in all ten A.M.A. specialty journals. This policy will become effective with the July issues of THE JOURNAL.
The publication of the synopsis-abstract in THE JOURNAL will give wide publicity to each contribution. Moreover, it will be made available to other abstract services that wish to make use of it—and to the state medical journals that wish to provide an abstract section.
Every member of the American Medical Association will benefit from this feature by being informed about every original work appearing in all A.M.A. publications. The membership will no longer find it necessary to depend on an outside agency to alert it to the publishing scope of its own Association. What is equally important, there will be no delay since the synopsis-abstract will be as
