THIS Issue of the Archives of Otolarynissue of the Archives of Otolaryngology departs from our usual rule not to publish an article which appears elsewhere. Because of its importance to all otolaryngologists the paper read by Dr. Hallowell Davis before the recent meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology is being published this month in the Transactions of the academy as well as in this issue of the Archives of Otolaryngology.
