International Symposium: Physical Activity and Cardiovascular Health.—An International Symposium on Physical Activity and Cardiovascular Health will be held Oct 11-13, 1966, in Toronto, to develop more clearly the relationship between these two conditions.
This symposium is jointly sponsored by the Ontario Heart Foundation and the Ontario Medical Association. It will be of interest to the physical education and medical professions, both of which have had a part in drawing up the program, and to exercise physiologists and specialists.
The program will consider (a) current interpretations of fitness, including assessment, determinants, and changes during training; (b) fitness and the prevention of cardiovascular disease in animals and man; and (c) planning for cardiovascular health including activity patterns, a consideration of rehabilitation, and motivation.
The invited speakers are from Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as many of the leaders in these fields in North America.
