Abstract

To the Editor: I would deeply appreciate your advice on a difficult problem. I have just examined an 8-year-old boy who contracted mumps in June. This was followed by a severe unilateral sensorineural hearing loss. What knowledge do we have of the type of damage usually produced in such cases and is any medical therapy indicated?
