Abstract

Current medical literature is producing a sharply increased awareness in the field of cytogenetics and its role in contemporary medicine. For the busy practitioner a panoramic picture is difficult to obtain because this material is not only widely scattered but difficult to read.

The monograph is not an exhaustive text but a storybook written in conversational style intended to be a narrative of knowledge up to the present time. It is written by a pediatrician, not a cytogeneticist, for the clinician who wishes to become better informed.

Should you wish to become conversant in chromosome disorders this book is a real find, having the distinct advantages of brevity, clarity, economy, and clinical orientation.
