To the Editor.—As an addendum to the letter from Dr. John B. Gregg in the April Archives I can specify the requirements necessary to qualify for the traineeship program in otolaryngic pathology offered by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology.
Physicians must be citizens of the United States or immigrants having made a declaration of intent for citizenship. The applicants should be interested in academic careers in pathology or otolaryngology. A definite level of postgraduate training is not specified. However, the internship should have been completed, and it is preferred that the applicant have at least a year's postdoctoral training in otolaryngology or pathology. I might add also, for your interest, that following receipt of the applicant's credentials and letters of recommendation, this information is reviewed by the Committee on Otolaryngic Pathology, AAOO, for final decision as to their acceptability.
