To the Editor.—The readers of Dr. Sheehy's excellent paper on Facial Nerve Decompression in Cases of Bell's Palsy (Arch Otolaryng 84:241 [March] 1968) should be warned that positive responses to nerve stimulation have been observed for a period of two to three weeks, although the facial paralysis did not recover completely in approximately 12% of these tests.
