Abstract

Primary melanoma of the epiglottis is a rare lesion. This case appears to be the fourth one of epiglottic melanoma and the first one to be treated by supraglottic laryngectomy. During the fifth postoperative year signs of regional and systemic spread supervened and the patient died.
