The following correspondence was received from Dr. House regarding his editorial, "Memories," in the December 1969 issue of the Archives.

To Dr. House.—It does not happen too often that a surgical-instrument maker's efforts to serve the surgeon are praised in a medical journal. Therefore, I owe you my hearty thanks for mentioning my name in your contribution in the Julius Lempert memorial issue of the Archives of Otolaryngology. I think this is the highest reward which an instrument-maker can earn. Thank you for your kindness.

PS: It was I who had the privilege to serve you in 1938!
