Radiotherapy is not the treatment of choice for glottic cancer which crosses from one vocal cord to the other at the anterior commissure. The anatomy of this area creates difficulty in diagnosis and in follow-up observation, in addition to predisposing the area to undertreatment or to radionecrosis.
