Abstract

A case report of a patient with squamous cell carcinoma of the floor of the mouth complicated by symptomatic hypercalcemia is presented. Although the incidence of patients with head and neck tumors who have hypercalcemia is unknown, it is apparent that hypercalcemia can occur in a small but significant number of these patients and should be carefully considered in evaluating them both preoperatively and during their postoperative course should complications arise.
