To the Editor.
—I have read with great interest your recently published article in Archives about the "lost footplate fragment."I had already the opportunity to speak about this very technique on May 19, 1969, at the Societe ORL des Hopitaux de Paris.Along with you I think that a lost footplate fragment in the labyrinth is the worst thing that can happen. It is amazing that the literature barely mentions this subject.I do hope the knowledge of this "bloodclot technique" will help save hearing in these patients.
