Abstract

A series of 30 rhinoplasties was evaluated to determine the effect of drainage tubes used in the lateral-osteotomy incisions on edema and ecchymosis occurring postoperatively. No differences were noted. A comparison of Neivert chisels vs Joseph saws used for the lateral osteotomies showed no differences in the postoperative swelling.
