A patient had a persistent parotid-antral fistula after fracture of the zygomaticomaxillary compound. The fistula failed to close after fat obliteration of the maxillary sinus, but superficial parotidectomy resulted in a cure. The possible mechanism of fistula creation and alternate treatment methods are discussed. A search of the literature and of a series of cases from the University of Colorado Medical Center failed to reveal a similar case.
