Abstract

The artificial mastoid is a satisfactory instrument for the calibration of bone vibrators. Because of the expense of the artificial mastoid, the clinician may consider utilizing input voltage measurements to calibrate bone vibrators. This investigation has shown, however, that fair approximations of the outputs of clinically used bone vibrators, on the basis of input voltage measurements, could not be made for the population of vibrators utilized.
