Abstract

The musculocutaneous flap procedure in lower lid blepharoplasty offers significant advantages in properly selected cases including ease of surgical performance, added effectiveness due to the use of orbicularis oculi muscle wedge resection, and clearer presentation of herniating fat pads and orbital septal defects. Experience with myomectomy indicates that the dangers have been vastly overstated.
