LaryngoptosisAn Unusual Case of Hoarseness

We recently treated a boy with inferior displacement of the larynx, caused by a shortened, fibrotic right sternothyroid muscle. Following division of the fibrotic muscle, the larynx ascended to a more normal position.

Since surgery, the patient's presenting symptom, hoarseness, has gradually regressed.
