Abstract

Homologous nasal hump implants have proven to be satisfactory for the reconstruction of saddle noses. The material is obtained in the course of septorhinoplasty and is implanted by septorhinoplastic procedures.

No foreign body or cystic reactions have been encountered. The difficulties incident to removal of autogenous iliac crest and rib have been avoided. Aesthetic results have been excellent. A double hump implant is described and opportunities for microscopic and, eventually, animal studies are indicated.
