Since the literature in the field of allergy is becoming more complex, more voluminous, and more widely scattered, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep abreast of the times. There is, therefore, a need for an annual review. This is especially true for those not in constant contact with the subject.
The annual review offers an opportunity to scan selected topics of interest and to consult the bibliography if more detail is required. Editorial comments on various subjects help to maintain a reader's general perspective.
A nicely written brief chapter on otolaryngologic allergy is included but not one of its four contributors was an otolaryngologist.
For anyone with the inclination to scan the 1973 allergy literature the $15 cost of the book is a good invest
