This book comes from the proceedings of the Symposium of the Educational Foundation of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, which was held in Miami in January 1975. The book contains the discussions of 18 general plastic surgeons on various aspects of rhinoplastic surgery, including history, medical-legal aspects, secondary surgery, and pin fixation in septoplasty, and the book concludes with an open discussion of problem cases. The volume's 311 pages contain many helpful preoperative and postoperative photographs, as well as some surgical diagrams. Tip rhinoplasty is covered specifically and quite thoroughly.
This is anything but a basic nasal surgery text. Only two of the 28 chapters deal with surgery of the nasal septum. Psychiatric aspects and the "difficult patient" are not discussed. Discussion of basic nasal surgery incisions and instruments are not included. The book will find its greatest utility among surgeons with large cosmetic rhinoplasty practices. Directors
