Abstract

PATHOLOGIC QUIZ CASE 1 

Jonas T. Johnson, MD, David L. Poushter, MD, Syracuse, NY  A 67-year-old woman had an asymptomatic mass at the left angle of the jaw. She stated it had been present for several months and was enlarging. Physical examination confirmed a pea-sized firm mass overlying the left angle of the jaw that was mobile. The facial nerve was intact.At surgery the mass was found to lie very superficially just under the parotid fascia. The firm, beige-colored, well-encapsulated mass was sent for frozen section (Fig 1, 2).What is your diagnosis?
