Hearing Aid Assessment and Use in Audiologic Habilitation is a broadbased, well-organized compendium of information regarding hearing aids and their use in the habilitation of the person with a sensorineural hearing impairment. Although the term "habilitation" is used in the title, the book covers both the habilitative and rehabilitative aspects of hearing aid use, ie, the needs of adults, as well as children, are discussed. The chapters deal with such aspects of amplification as the physical and electroacoustic characteristics of the aid, earmolds, clinical measurements, classroom amplification, aural rehabilitation, delivery systems, and research needs. Each chapter gives a summary of current research, and many of the chapters offer a list of recommended readings for those who wish to expand on the basic information that is presented.
