Articles from more than 50 national and international journals are summarized in the 1982 Year Book of Otolaryngology. Even though the book carries a publication date of September 1982, most of the articles were originally published in 1981.
The book is divided into two major sections. Under "Surgery of the Head and Neck" are eight chapters, including "Laryngology" and "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery." Under "Otology," there are five chapters, including "Vestibular Function and Vertigo" and "Facial Nerve and Tumors." From two to 60 articles appropriate to the subject are summarized in each chapter. The summaries are from about 200 to 500 words in length. They are concisely written and surprisingly well illustrated. Most summaries are followed by editorial comments.
