The expression that you can't tell a book by its cover is clearly untrue in the case of this book by J. J. Ballenger. This 13th edition, which, for 76 years of continuous publication has been a labor of love for the Ballenger family, has for its cover La Gout, one of the series of 15th-century French tapestries entitled The Senses.
