For some years now, members of the American Society for Head Neck Surgery have been submitting scientific essays to the editorial board of the ARCHIVES for peer review and possible publication. All essays would have been presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Head Neck Surgery. The council for the American Society was more than pleased when the editorial board accepted our request to make this journal our official publication and, further, to develop a monthly newsletter to our membership within its covers. Because of the ARCHIVES' worldwide distribution, this exchange bulletin becomes not only an increasingly valuable source of information about current activities within the Society, but it provides a means to communicate regularly with our corresponding fellows, which, in turn, increases the value of becoming a fellow. Those wishing to apply for membership, please write to our current Secretary, Willard E. Fee, Jr, MD, Stanford
