Medical Association Elects President.—The American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery inducted Byron J. Bailey, MD, University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, as its new president. Dr Bailey has been active in the Academy for more than 20 years and succeeds Derald E. Brackmann, MD, Los Angeles.
Dr Bailey is Wiess Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Texas, a position he has held for 20 years. He also serves on the executive committee and as examination chairman for the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is Chief Editor of the Archives.
