Terra-cotta warriors, Xi’an, China

Arch Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2011;137(10):977. doi:10.1001/archoto.2011.175

Photographer: Susan L. Levine, MEd, Charlottesville, Virginia. “Thought to be the eighth wonder of the world, the Terra-cotta Museum is 1.5 km east of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum that the 6000-plus warriors ‘guarded.’ Pit 2, where these soldiers are located, consists of 4 different mixed military forces in 4 arrays—the ‘quick-response army’ in modern military terms. We were fortunate to visit here in March 2009 and it quickly became my most favorite of all the sites we visited during our Asia trip.”
