Typographical Data Error in Abstract

JAMA Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2017;143(9):960. doi:10.1001/jamaoto.2017.1816

In the Original Investigation titled “Objective and Subjective Measures of Simultaneous vs Sequential Bilateral Cochlear Implants in Adults: A Randomized Clinical Trial,”1 published online June 22, 2017, a typographical data error occurred in the Results section of the abstract. For the difference of 0.9 dB, the upper limit of the 95% CI should have been reported as 4.4 dB, not −4.4 dB (ie, difference, 0.9 dB [95% CI, –3.1 to 4.4 dB], not [95% CI, –3.1 to –4.4 dB]). This article was corrected online.
