JAMA Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2018;144(6):543. doi:10.1001/jamaoto.2018.1619

In the article titled “Association of Standardized Tracheostomy Care Protocol Implementation and Reinforcement With the Prevention of Life-Threatening Respiratory Events,”1 the descriptions of suction in the second and third bullet points under the “Protocol guideline” heading have been corrected. The instances that previously read that patients will be suctioned 2 or 4 times have been corrected to read that the patients will be suctioned every 2 or 4 hours. The article was corrected online.
