New Pediatric Department at Marquette University.—Marquette University Medical School, Milwaukee, has organized a separate department of pediatrics. The following appointments have been made: M. G. Peterman, M.D., head of the department; A. B. Schwartz, M.D., clinical professor; A. L. Kastner, M.D., associate professor; K. E. Kassowitz, M.D., assistant professor; S. H. Lippitt, M.D., assistant clinical professor; H. O. McMahon, M.D., assistant clinical professor; G. F. Kelly, M.D., and F. R. Janney, M.D., instructors, and S. E. Kohn, M.D., assistant.
WORK OF CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF CHILD WELFARE
The University of California Institute of Child Welfare will make an intensive study of the development and growth of 150 infants. It is planned to obtain roentgenograms of the development of the normal chest and lungs, and if possible, to detect how early changes in the lymph glands begin in infants who are tuberculous.
