This excellent little book has been compiled by the authors in order to make available a handbook that will be useful in metabolism determinations. It discusses the various types of apparatus, their use and the methods of using them, and contains useful tables of the reductions of gas volume at different temperatures and at a pressure of from 621 to 760 mm. of mercury, as well as the Harris Benedict formula for estimating the normal metabolism, and other similar tables. It does not pretend to discuss the theoretic aspects of metabolism.
