The author classes as infantilism all conditions in which infantile characteristics persist abnormally. He discusses the history of these conditions collectively, and then describes in detail, thyroid disturbance, hypophyseal, suprarenal and renal infantilism, celiac disease, progeria, hepatosplenic infantilism, cardiac infantilism and Gandy's form. The descriptions are good, and the photographic illustrations are excellent. The final chapters are devoted to a résumé of the various pathologic considerations and a general discussion of the forms of treatment.
