This short monograph of 102 pages is complete from a clinical standpoint. It is evident that Poucel knows practically nothing about the literature on the subject except what has been published in France. The references and text show a decided narrowness of outlook. On the other hand, the material is well handled, and the subject is fully discussed.
While he does not cite American literature, Poucel evidently knows enough about it to criticize it for not giving Fredet credit for the operation which in this country is commonly known by the name of Ramstedt.
To one familiar with the subject, the book affords a good review from the French standpoint.
