Abstract

The present edition of this little book is similar to the first (1934) except for a moderate increase in the list of subjects considered and a slight amount of revision of the original text. It is a pocket-sized volume, well printed and securely bound, and contains eighty illustrations in black and white and nine colored plates.

It is primarily intended for the use of medical students and offers them a brief yet fairly comprehensive presentation of the most important facts concerning the health and the diseases of infants and children. In addition, it should be of service to teachers because of the arrangement of the material into sixty-one chapters, each of which is suitable for an hour's work in the classroom, and of value to busy general practitioners because of the careful enumeration of the essential points on symptomatology, diagnosis and treatment of disease.
