The author discusses the various conditions in which vomiting is observed in the neonatal period, in infancy and in childhood. Acute and chronic forms of vomiting are considered separately, and both the common and the rare disorders are included. Emphasis is placed on differential diagnosis, but complete discussions of spastic pyloric stenosis, habitual vomiting in infancy, rumination and periodic vomiting are given. The material is well organized and is presented in an interesting manner.
