This book is written primarily for the layman, but many physicians may find it of value. It emphasizes facts which, though known to the medical profession, are often given insufficient consideration. It is simply and humorously written, and the reader is made to understand why cathartics and patent medicines are harmful, what principles should underlie his selection of food and drink and why he should consult a competent physician if constipation is present.
