Abstract

This monograph is a refreshing addition to the many books that have appeared recently on the subject of allergy.

Dr. Gay writes with a directness that is seldom found in medical literature. He is an author who says what he wants to say, and says it well. It is an opinionated book, and expresses the viewpoint of a physician who says what he believes in no indefinite terms. One might criticize this volume because it is not comprehensive either as a text or as a monograph. But whether or not one agrees with the author on all points, or whether there are on occasion glaring omissions and errors of fact, that detracts little from its value. The reader does get a clear picture in a field that is in sore need of clarification.
