Financial Statement of Fifth International Pediatric Congress.—The condensed financial statement of the Fifth International Congress of Pediatrics, held in New York City on July 14, 15, 16 and 17, 1947, is as follows:Fund Established for Promotion of Therapeutic Investigation.—The American Medical Association has entrusted the Committee on Therapeutic Research of the Council on Pharmacy and Chemistry with a fund to be expended in the promotion of investigations that may have therapeutic interest. The Committee invites applications for grants in this general field, which is conceived very broadly.In the application there must be an adequate description of the research proposed. Since the grants from the Council may well be small in relation to the total cost of investigations aided, the Committee would appreciate information as to whether the proposed research is a continuation of investigation which has been supported previously by some research fund, and as
