Postgraduate Center for Psychotherapy, Inc., Offers Training Course.—The Postgraduate Center for Psychotherapy, Inc., the training associate of the Institute for Research in Psychotherapy, Inc., has been granted a provisional charter from the Board of Regents of the New York State Educational Department. It offers intensive training for psychiatrists in psychotherapy leading to certification, and individual courses for general practitioners and nonpsychiatric medical specialists in psychotherapy and psychosomatic medicine.
Clinical psychologists and psychiatric case workers are trained in methods that are within the scope of their education and skills, and which can contribute to an integrated program. The primary aim of the program is to encourage the development of teams of psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers who can organize and operate community psychiatric clinics.
The courses of instruction include practical demonstrations in psychotherapy, as well as lectures. The work of all students is supervised by teachers qualified to
