One of us (J.N.W.) attended an APPG meeting that focused on the RRC requirements of the ACGME. It commenced promptly at 8 AM and by 10 AM a total of 41 organizational initials had been used. The total for the entire meeting was not kept. Not surprisingly, the HRSA presentation at the meeting was quite fruitful. On returning home, colleagues were consulted, and additions were made to the list. F.A.M. had just received a meeting notice from the AAMC that included an abbreviations key listing 29 initials associated with that organization. Herewith is a test and scoring system for academic medicine initials. While the following are weighted toward pediatrics, any academician who aspires to chair a plenary session should do quite well.
