Editing the oldest pediatric journal in the world is a unique privilege for which we are enormously grateful. It is made possible by the efforts of many, many people, starting with authors who entrust us with the intellectual products of their work. In 2015, we had an all-time high of 1710 total submissions, including 1390 original research papers, 86 review manuscripts, and 173 Viewpoints and Editorials (Table). We were only able to accept 14% of total submissions and 9% of research manuscripts; this selectivity is reflected in our impact factor of 7.2.
