To the Editor I read with great interest the article by Ralston and Schroeder1 on medical overuse in pediatrics. As a pediatric resident at a busy, stand-alone children’s hospital, I take care of many children who have a variety of diseases. While we always care for our patients with the best intentions, there have been numerous times where I have seen medical overuse result in harm, and I have questioned the utility of our multiple interventions.
