To the Editor Grosse et al1 suggested in their Viewpoint that screening for neonatal hyperbilirubinemia may do more harm than good. They cited several organizations that concluded there is insufficient evidence to recommend bilirubin screening, and they expressed concern about new evidence that phototherapy may cause epilepsy (at least in boys).2,3
