“I Can, Can You?” is Marjorie Pitzer's first book in this series and a delightfully simple and creative board book that features pictures of children with Down syndrome exploring their world. Aimed at the toddler-preschool ages, this book uses peers as role models to challenge the reader, with the help of a caregiver, to interact and try new experiences. The follow-up book “My Up & Down & All Around Book,” again focuses on children with Down syndrome learning about prepositions in their natural environment. The author has worked with children with Down syndrome for more than 2 decades. Her passion is photography and her skill is evident as she also provided the beautiful photography for these books. Woodbine House has long been known for its resources for children with disabilities. The efforts of the author and publisher have produced a charming and unique series of books that are a welcome change from the traditional presentation of board books for this age group.
