This book is an excellent overview of the field. The chapter authors are leading authorities in their field of suicidology and their conclusions are well documented. This is an excellent reference including all the important information for the general practitioner as well as summaries of the key literature for those who specialize in suicide prevention. It also includes many practical concepts that can be incorporated into treatment and program development. The collection may be too detailed for many general practitioners wanting an efficient overview but could serve as a good reference source.
